  • 16. The Sediment Issue

Stop 16 Narrator: Colby Weathers, an award winning landscape design artist who was one of the co-designers of this garden says if everyone started managing their storm water in their own backyards, it would change our rivers. Colby Weathers: When we see very large storm events, rain events, and you see the rivers and streams being clouded with muddy water, that’s erosion and sediment that’s being carried off by the truckload and every one of these types of systems, a rain garden, can protect the property that you have actually purchased from being washed away into the watershed. Narrator: To continue to see more restoration projects, walk down the Netul River Trail about a 1/2 mile, and stop at the brown metal foot bridge next to Ft. Clatsop Road.
